Pride and Prejudice

A classic with charm and wit

Set in the Regency era, Pride and Prejudice centers around the Bennets; a well-to-do family with five daughters, that is pressured by the fact that women cannot inherit the family estate. Mrs. Bennet's desperate attempts to secure advantageous marriages for her daughters creates a backdrop for Elizabeth to navigate encounters with the high-class Mr. Darcy, the pompous Mr. Collins, and the roguish Mr. Wickham.

English Theatre Utrecht presenting the classic story in a production under two hours that captured the essence of the charm and wit of the original novel. Adding a unique touch, the production included a short home play performed by the Bennet sisters, an homage to Jane Austen's own Juvenilia.

Audiences were given a true Regency atmosphere, enlivened by musical interludes, dance, and the whimsical spirit of Austen's world.
